The following are some of the most common questions we hear from our customers regarding our services: Q: How do I get my materials to you? A: 75% of our clients mail their orders to us, either using UPS (recommended for tracking purposes), FedEx, or USPS. We have received many orders from all across the country, and have never had an instance of a lost or damaged package. Materials should be packed in a cardboard box or heavy envelope, with sufficient padding to ensure they arrive safely. In addition to mail order service, local customers who meet the minimum order requirements are eligible for Pickup and Delivery. Local customers who wish to drop off orders in person may bring their materials (in a bag, box or envelope clearly labelled with our full address) to our downtown Oakland drop-off location: The UPS Store, 1714 Franklin St. (Between 17th & 19th), Oakland, CA 94612. Simply hand your materials to the counterperson there - be sure to include a copy of our order form with your contact information! When your order is complete, we can ship everything back to you, or schedule a time to meet you with the finished product. Q: Will my materials be safe? A: Absolutely. Avid vinyl collectors ourselves, you can rest assured that we understand the importance of keeping your materials in exactly the same (if not better!) condition as that in which they were received. Our technicians use cotton protective gloves when handling all sensitive media to ensure the absolute minimum impact on the condition of your materials. Q: How will I receive my digitized music? A: There are three options to choose from: Audio CD, DVD-ROM (data), or download. Standard Transfers are normally burned to Audio CD (usually one disc per album); customers utilizing our e-Music service can choose to receive their MP3's on DVD-ROM (up to 70 albums per disc) or by download from our server. Archival Gold CDs (engineered to last longer than standard audio CD-Rs) are available for an additional $1 per disc. Q: What kind of turnaround can I expect? A: Average orders (up to 30 LPs, videos, or cassettes) are usually shipped out/delivered within a week of receipt. Larger orders may take a little longer, depending on the total size, and how busy we are at the time. As soon as we receive your order, you will get an email from us with your project details, cost, and an estimated date of completion. Rush service is available for an additional fee, please email us for an estimate. Q: Can I get a discount? A: Non-profits,educational institutions, and customers with orders totalling over $1000 are eligible for additional discounts. Please contact us for further information. Q: Can I add services after my order is completed? A: Yes! We keep your transferred materials in our system for one month (excluding SimpleDub video transfers) after your order is shipped out to ensure your complete satisfaction. Customers who want to take advantage of our audio noise reduction services, or upgrade to our e-Music package after receiving your initial transfers may do so by notifying us within a month. A small media/setup fee ($5.00 per disc) is applied in addition to the cost of the requested service. Q: I don't want my original materials anymore. Can you dispose of them for me? A: Absolutely. By checking the Donate/Recycle My Materials box on the second page of our order form, you can designate all or part of your order for reuse. Unwanted vinyl is donated to our local Goodwill outlet, and, in addition, we will take 50 cents off the cost of your order for each disc donated. Unwanted audio & video cassettes are shipped to a recycling plant on the East Coast, where they are dismantled and completely recycled. Q: What does the first item of the "Terms and Conditions" on the order form mean? A: Federal copyright laws allow consumers to create one copy of their recorded audio materials for personal use. The item in our Terms and Conditions is merely a safeguard to protect Analog to Digital from copyright infringement lawsuits relating to our services, and does not directly apply to ordinary music consumers. Please note that d ue to federal copyright laws, we are unable to work with copyrighted video materials without written consent from the copyright holder. |
